Arrived to Heathrow airport London on the 26th of feb 08, 6:00 AM, it was quite amazing yet fearful feeling, i was so excited that I'm going to start a whole new chapter and level in my life, closing the old dark one, at the same time frightened and nervous about whats waiting for me. After claiming around 6 baggages, me along with my sister and my mother, we met my father's friend who helped us in booking a hotel and getting a transportation from the airport. Went to the hotel, settled there, then around 9:00AM went to the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau to finalize the scholarship papers, it's was quite surprising that it took merely a whole day. At the end of that day, or let's say the working hours day at 4:00PM after finishing the finalization went back to the hotel to get a goodnight sleep, yes a goodnight sleep 5:00PM because it was such hard and exhausting day. During our time at the Bureau, it was quite interesting seeing all these youth students who came all the way from Saudi Arabia to finish their studies in the UK, it was a huge number.
After getting a goodnight sleep, i woke up 3 hours later feeling revived and refreshed, went down to the cold empty streets, i still had the Saudi mentality, that everything is still open and all the people just started to go out at the time, but i was astonished that things will never be the same again, i have to re-time my biological clock and adjust it to the British mentality, it's not an easy task, it's a challenging amendment, but it has to be done.
I'm going to jump to the 2nd day here, as i went back to the hotel after a shocking walk around, woke up in the morning, we had one last important thing to accomplish, to register our passport in the Saudi Arabian Embassy, but it didn't take a long time like they day before, it was a 5 min job. Now all the important, rated #1 in the to do list have been done, so as a first time visitors to London (me & and my sister) we had to walk around, see the famous places such as Hyde Park, Oxford St., Edgeware Road which is full of Arabs and Arabian restaurants and of course (Shesha).
all that time in the 1st, 2nd, ...etc day, i was always wondering who to drive on the right side, I'm still getting confused about it, i don't think i can be able to drive here, specially with a stick or what we call it (Manual Transmission). not a very busy day Honestly but it was an entertaining day and of course, a lot of photography.
